About Camp

Camp NoHiLo is a day camp for children with diabetes.

  • Campers may bring a brother or sister who is also 4-10 years old.
  • All campers, with and without diabetes, are grouped according to age.

Camp NoHiLo fosters increased confidence and self- esteem, responsibility and age appropriate independence in diabetes care. Campers enjoy traditional indoor and outdoor activities while meeting other children with diabetes.

Campers must bring a sack lunch each day. Snacks and drinks will be provided by the camp.

Program Goals

The goals of Camp NoHiLo are to:

  • Increase campers’ knowledge of diabetes by providing a healthy and mentally stimulating education program in combination with recreational fun.
  • Improve campers’ diabetes management problem solving skills and abilities through hands on activities.
  • Increase campers’ self esteem, confidence and facilitate increased independence by offering the opportunity to meet others with diabetes and share life experiences.
  • Promote appropriate emotional and physical growth and development.

Cost and What’s Included

  • $110 sibling without diabetes

The cost of Camp NoHiLo includes diabetes camp supplies (insulin/testing supplies), medical supervision, supervised program activities, snacks and drinks, arts and crafts, a Camp NoHiLo T-shirt and group picture. The actual cost per camper is $175. However, our camper fees are subsidized by donations made to Diabetes Solutions.

Scholarships are available for those who cannot pay the full amount. Our goal is that no child is denied access to Camp NoHiLo for financial reasons. If you wish to apply for financial assistance, please check the appropriate box on the registration form. Fees will be adjusted according to demonstrated financial, medical and social need.
