Diabetes Solutions of Oklahoma is a small organization trying to accomplish BIG things!

In order to do this, we need your help. Help can be offered in many ways.

Funding

DSOK offers many programs at either no cost or greatly subsidized fees to children and families affected by T1D. In order to do more for more people, we need more funding. Here are some ways you can help:

1. Make a donation to DSOK today! Donations can be mailed directly to us at 3333 NW 63 rd St.,
Suite 100; Oklahoma City, OK 73116 or you can make a donation here:

2. If you are a federal employee, please consider supporting DSOK via CFC #30032.

3. If you are unable to make a donation but still want to help, please consider visiting a local civic group to request a donation for DSOK to support the work that we do. Many organizations are willing to help, but they have to be asked.

Here are some ideas: Lions, Elks, Kiwanis, churches, school organizations, college sororities and fraternities, or Junior League.

4. Visit local shops and restaurants that you do business with and request donations - financial or
gift cards for items listed below.

5. Consider hosting a third party fund raiser such as a school, church, or work event to benefit
DSOK.

Add your name to our volunteer list

Add your name to our volunteer list: Occasionally we need help with data entry, mailings and preparing our “Sack of Solutions” bags for newly diagnosed patients. Can we add your name and email address to our volunteer list so that when we need help, we can reach out to you?

To add your name to this list, email tracy@dsok.net.

Signing up does not commit you to anything, we will just let you know
when we need help.

DSOK Summer Camp Programs

The camping programs offered by DSOK need help in many ways. Take a look at how you might help change the life of a child or teen with diabetes.

All camping programs offered are significantly subsidized. Even if a camper family pays the camper fee, DSOK must raise additional money to completely cover the cost. Please help!

Help with Summer Camps

1. Sponsor a camper! You can make a donation to sponsor any camper or many campers!

Donations can be made here on our website or by sending your check or money order with the campers name attached. If you do not have a specific camper in mind, we will be happy to assign your donation to a camper in need of camp funding.

2. Help us find others who are able to sponsor a camper. If the camper is your child, ask friends and family to make a donation to help sponsor your camper.

3. Volunteer as camp medical staff – we are always looking for medical staff who want to help kids and learn more about diabetes. If you are a doctor, nurse, dietitian, CDE, psychologist, or pharmacist please consider volunteering!

4. Apply to be a Camp Counselor – If you are 17-27 years old and have type 1 diabetes or a sibling with T1D, consider volunteering for the most rewarding challenge you will ever experience. Email Natalie for more information.

5. Donate supplies that make for a fun and successful camp experience, such as:

-Individually packaged snacks are used during all four camp sessions. Ideas include: peanut butter crackers, pretzels, fruit snacks, cheese-its, animal crackers, nuts, rice crispy treats or other individual serving sized snack foods.

-Personal care items: travel size items such as shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant, female products, body lotion, bug spray, shower soap, towels, and blankets.

-Prizes for counselors: (teens/young adults) For example, gift cards for gas money!

6. Donate arts and craft supplies: Sharpie markers, craft glue, crayons, craft paint, card stock paper, art supplies for specific art projects, etc.

7. Volunteer for loading and unloading supplies on the days we head to camp for set up.

8. Volunteer for check-in and/or check-out at all camps. Help is always needed!
